  • Experimental: an INLET face injects particles every step with particles: {number_density, fields}, in proportion to the flow, so count: 0 starts a flow-through case from an empty domain. Counts, positions and IDs are keyed on the grid and the step, so they carry no state and do not depend on the rank layout. Such an inlet defaults to particle_policy: reflect, and particle_injection.csv records its budget.
